INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
On August 15th, 2024, Pattom
Thanupillai Memorial College of Education celebrated Independence Day with
great enthusiasm and patriotism. The day's events began with the flag-hoisting
ceremony at 8:30 AM in front of the Principal's office. The national flag was
hoisted with pride, and the ceremony was attended by faculty, staff, and
students.
Following the flag-hoisting, a stage program was organized by the Social Science optional students at 10:00 AM in the Dr. C.P. Sreekantan Nair Memorial Hall. The Independence Day celebration was inaugurated with a speech by the Principal, Dr. Anu Krishnan. The Vice Principal, Jaya Sree Mam, along with the Social Science Head, Kiran lal Sir, and Vijusha Mam, delivered the Independence Day greetings, emphasizing the significance of the day and encouraging the students to uphold the values of freedom and democracy.
In addition to the cultural performances, a quiz and a drawing competition were conducted by the third-semester Social Science optional students. The drawing competition, themed "The Future Vision of India," saw the participation of nine students, while the quiz competition comprised five rounds: Audio, Visual, Monument, General Knowledge, and Current Affairs. The Malayalam optional students emerged as the winners in both the quiz and the drawing competition, showcasing their talent and knowledge.
The event concluded at
1:00 PM with the prize distribution ceremony. The winners were honored by Adv.
Prashant Bhushan, Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court, presented the
awards and delivered an inspiring message to the students, encouraging them to
contribute positively to the nation's future.
