Community Outreach Program: Portable Water Donation to Primary Health Centre by PTM College of Education

On October 10, 2024, the PTM College of Education concluded a week-long celebration of Gandhi Jayanti with a meaningful community outreach initiative. In a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of service to humanity, the college took the noble step of providing portable water to the Primary Health Centre in Maruthoorkonam. This initiative aimed to address the pressing need for safe and accessible drinking water in healthcare facilities, reinforcing the importance of health and hygiene for the well-being of the community.

The program was graced by the presence of the Kottukal Panchayat Member, whose support for the cause amplified the significance of the event.

The first week of my teaching practice has been a blend of excitement, nervousness, and deep learning. Stepping into the classroom not as a student but as a teacher trainee was a surreal experience. The week began with introductions and classroom observation, followed by my initial teaching sessions. I aimed to make the sessions engaging and meaningful. While I initially struggled with classroom management and sticking to the time limit, the experience helped me understand the importance of planning, flexibility, and understanding learner diversity. The students responded positively to visual aids and real-life examples, which boosted my confidence. My guide teacher provided valuable feedback, and peer interactions helped me improve further. Overall, this week has been a rewarding learning experience, and I look forward to applying new strategies and improving my teaching in the weeks to come.
